The countries in Europe developed their own architectural designs copying from that of the castles in other countries.
The castles have a great beginning especially France and England. They are starting from simple towers. The towers kept a basic rectangular shape. The strong keep housed all the rooms for the lord, his lady and his family and also ceremonial rooms, chapels, garderobes, fireplaces, state rooms and arsenals. Only trusted vassals and bondsmen were allowed to enter the tower. During the later Middle Ages, French castles began the transformation. These castles were transformed from formidable and protective strong hold, to elegant and sophisticated chateau. Allies of French kings and other aristocracy claimed fortresses and transformed them into mini palaces.
